Huaman Poma Award

Guillermo Bastías, known worldwide as "Guillo", was recognized by the Organization of the International Exhibition of Graphic Humor with the Huaman Poma Award, a statuette created by the Peruvian sculptor Germán Rondón Valdivia, who has made a suggestive plastic interpretation of what means the artistic contribution of the Indian writer and cartoonist who depicted on scrolls, part of the history of Peru.

This award was established seven years ago to distinguish the career of those cartoonists, artists and Peruvian and Latin American illustrators whose work has had a special social and artistic significance, thereby contributing to the dissemination and recognition of this field of culture.

Bastías received this award from Rocío Oyanguren, President of the Organizing Committee of the International Exhibition of Graphic Humor, Liliam Ballón Sánchez de Amézaga, Director of Environment, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Antonio Mezarina, Mayor of the Municipality of Barranco.
